Red Tunis
Our sheep are predominantly Red Tunis, this breed is noted to be disease resistance and converts hay and grass into muscle very easily. The breed evolved from Africa and the Middle East in the eighteen hundreds and was known as a “fat tailed” sheep. It is believed that George Washington used a Tunis Ram to breed his flock after the Revolutionary War.
We love this breed for the high quality meat and the overall health of the animal. Our sheep are all natural. We do not use growth hormones on our animals. We let them grow naturally, grazing on quality pastures and hay that is grown on our farm.
We also supplement their diet with healthy grains to produce tender, mild meat.
